Original Gimbap - Direction in Pandemic by Hazim Azizi



The business is set up to fulfill the preferrence of one of the truly asian favourites, gimbap in local taste. The early plan was to conduct physical booth and presentthe live art of rolling the gimbap in front of our fans and customers. However, the pandemic of COVID-19 strike us just before we set up the booth and keep challenging us to fight with this business. Our team heads up and come out of the idea doing online business.
 
As main platform, our Instagram, Original Gimbap (OG) provides the information needed to our customers. As for now, we focus on reaching our target market which now spread outside IIUM. Let them know that we are now doing online is our priority. We are now trying to solve the problems with the suppliers since they were also affected with this pandemic. The further actions are fully dependent with the instructions of our government especially for the new small business.
 
In terms of delivery we decide to use outsource delivery service such as Grab Express, Lalamove and GoGet. Using motorcyle delivery will reach our customers fast and the items also easy to handle. To keep our gimbap fresh we will collect order 1 day before the delivery to avoid excessive raw materials of the gimbap since we do not prefer big inventory.
 
To collect orders, our customers can private message directly to Instagram account or whatsapp number. Our team will response fast 24/7 immediately. They just need to pay online to our OG accounts and provide the delivery locations. The delivery charge based on the distance between our based Gombak and their locations. However, free delivery inside Gombak.
 
We also provide our riders the official letter from our business to follow Conditioned Movement Control Order (CMCO) standard operation process (SOP) in case there is the requirement from officials. We hope everyone stay at home and enjoy our gimbap with family!
